An oval garden table is the compromise most people are actually looking for. It seats nearly as many as a rectangle but loses the corners, so it is easier to walk around on a tight patio and easier to talk across at either end.
Ours extend, running from 180-240cm up to a 2-3m, with solid premium hardwood teak tops at 4cm thick. One is available with a lazy susan built into the middle, which is worth having on any table wide enough that the far end cannot reach the serving dishes.
If you are undecided between oval and round, the honest answer is that it depends on your patio rather than your table. Square spaces suit round, long spaces suit oval, and an oval wooden garden table is the safer choice if you ever seat more than six.
An oval table has rounded ends and no sharp corners, so it is easy to move around and feels sociable to sit at. It also seats more people than a round table of a similar width, which makes it a good fit for a longer or narrower patio.
If you prefer straight edges, compare our rectangular garden tables.
The 2m Sunshine oval table seats six. Our 120–170cm round-to-oval extending table seats four to six, the 180–240cm oval extending table seats six to eight, and the 2–3m oval extending table seats ten to twelve.
To buy a table and chairs together, browse our 6 chair garden sets, 8 seat garden furniture and 10 seat garden furniture.
The 2m Oval Sunshine teak garden table has a Lazy Susan set into the centre of its 4cm-thick top, so everyone can reach what is on the table.
For other tables we sell separate teak Lazy Susans in 55cm and 80cm sizes.
Most of them do. Our extending oval tables use a double-leaf system that gives three sizes, so the table can stay compact day to day and open up for larger gatherings.

Teak needs very little care. Clean it twice a year, in spring and autumn, with mild soapy water and a soft brush, always working with the grain. Do not use a pressure washer, and do not oil outdoor teak.
Our teak care guide covers everything in detail, and the Luxus Teak Care Kit is designed for restoring weathered wood.
