The right garden parasol is the one that actually shades the people at the table, and that depends more on shape than size. A 2.7m wooden garden parasol on a centre pole suits round tables and smaller rectangles, where the pole drops neatly through the middle.
For a full length dining set, a cantilever parasol is the better answer. The mast sits to one side, so the canopy reaches across eight or ten places without a pole in anybody's legs, and it swings out of the way when you want the sun back. Our LED models light the table once the evening turns.
Every one uses a 48mm pole, because on a cheap parasol it is almost always the pole that fails rather than the fabric. Tilting versions let you chase the sun through the afternoon without moving the base.
We offer two types. Our 2.7m solid wood parasols have a 48mm pole and are available in a tilting version, such as the 2.7m tilting parasol in cream. Our LED cantilever parasols come in 3x3m and 4x3m sizes with solar-powered lighting.
Our solid wood parasols have a 48mm pole. Many of our teak garden tables include a parasol hole with a flush-fitting plug; please check the product page for your table.
Our teak Lazy Susans also have a 48mm centre hole, so a parasol can pass through them.
A centre-pole parasol stands in the middle of the table. A cantilever parasol stands to one side and holds its canopy over the seating area, so there is no pole in the way.
Our cantilever parasols have a powder-coated aluminium frame with steel-reinforced arms.
The 2.7m canopy on our solid wood parasols is made from heavy-duty 180gsm polyester. A double vent at the top lets air circulate, which reduces wind uplift.
The 48mm solid wood pole is supplied in two sections that screw together, so assembly is straightforward.
Smaller items such as parasols, covers and care kits are usually dispatched within three working days and may arrive separately from larger furniture.
