Benches do two things chairs cannot. They tuck completely under the table when nobody is using them, which matters on a narrow patio, and they take an extra person at a squeeze when someone turns up unannounced.
Each garden table and bench set pairs a solid teak top, round, oval, rectangular or extending, with San Francisco or Belgravia benches. Most combine benches down one side with chairs on the other, which is the arrangement most people actually want: easy seating for the children, proper backs for the adults.
Sizes run from six seats up to twelve. If you are choosing between a bench set and chairs throughout, measure the gap between the table and whatever is behind it. Under about a metre, benches win, because nothing needs to be pulled out to sit down.
A bench garden set pairs a teak table with one or more benches, either instead of or alongside individual chairs. Benches seat people more flexibly, which is useful for children or for fitting in an extra guest, and they tuck neatly against the table when not in use. Chairs give each person their own arms and back support. Many of our sets combine the two.

Sets in this collection seat from two people up to twelve. As a guide, a 150cm round table seats six, a 180–240cm extending table seats eight to ten and a 2–3m extending table seats ten to twelve.

New teak can transfer natural oils to fabric during its first few weeks outdoors, so please read our cushion care guide before leaving cushions on the furniture.
Yes. Solid teak is rich in natural oils that resist rain, frost and rot, so a teak bench set can stay outdoors all year. Left untreated, teak weathers from honey-brown to silver-grey over six to twelve months; applying a teak sealer every 9 to 12 months keeps the original colour.

Standard delivery is free on orders over £500 to most UK mainland addresses, and is a kerbside service. On selected products and in selected areas, our Premium Delivery service adds assembly of your furniture and removal of the packaging.
